Curry Chicken Post

A picture to update my curry post last year. I love curries!

My New Garden

Last Dec, I wrote a post about the digging and drilling around my estate. Tada! Look at the new pathway at the 1st picture. The grass was abit dry as I took it on 1st Feb when the weather was dry and hot. It's now better and they actually added another palm plant and a mini tree (I just looked down earlier).

Greener grass and a new tree!

I love my place, it is so green and I can hear the birds chip and the crickets calls loudly and mate. And I get weird insects flying in and I don't mind them as long as they don't land on me!

And the 2nd picture shows what I see when I look out from my small room everyday, either eating my breakfast or reading or just daydreaming.

It was a rainy rainy day in Singapore

I spent the entire day in the hospital seeing one Dr to another and doing some nerve testing.

Hubby wants to rule out ear  infection so we went to see an ENT Dr in the morning at 1040 am. Seen the Dr, did hearing test, nope, no ear infection, ears are fine. Weakness due to Neuro most likely, better to do MRI... almost $1200 (jaws dropped). Earliest appointment 29 Apr.

Called Neuro, managed to be seen today at 345pm. That's 3 hours away so we went somewhere quieter for lunch.

This picture was snapped there cos it rained very very heavily 2 hours later and the water was raising up the car tyres.

Miraculously, the rain drizzled and we got a cab back to the hospital, along the way, it started to rain heavily again!

Anyway, different Drs have a different school of thoughts. He thinks it very likely due to the infection I had (not likely to be the attack that the A&E Dr, MO and Prof that saw me in the ward thinks) and sent me for a nerve test. I feel weak on my right side, hubby can measure my strength and felt that I am indeed weaker on the right but the Dr thinks both side are "the same", so what do I? Do I need to be very very sick before someone can tell me what went wrong? He extended my hospitalisation leave.

I hate being giddy, how I "sway" when I close my eyes. I want to be well and have my hair cut. I get scared when I looked at myself in the mirror. How awful I look.

I collected my meds at around 535pm and went home. I'm very tired now.

Beautiful sunset sky.

Earshot Cafe

29 Mar 2009

Eunice is a special friend of ours with a great singing voice and who is very artistic.

I have known her for about 6 years but as she is often in Canada, we don't get to meet very often. I admire her perseverance towards her music, how she would not conform to the industry packaging and mould and how she works hard to fulfill her dreams. It is not easy.

So I was very happy to receive her invitation to her gig at Earshot Cafe. She practiced 2 weeks for the 1 hr acoustic session. She writes her own song and can sing from soft rock to the Blues.

I can't wait for her CD to be released, but as her songs are considered indie more than mainstream pop, it would need alot of support to bring it onto our Sg shores!

Check out the 2 songs on her FB :
1. Room with No sound
2. Ghost of Babylon

I wished I had a better recording of the night event, but here's what I've got, it's not complete but I hope to share this with you. Unfortunately, I seem to be having problem uploading the video. Will try it again later.

A $1 deal

21 Mar 2009

During one of his lobang steal, hubby manages to get a room in Ibis Hotel for $1. Yes, you read it right, $1 !!!!

It's small and compact, not luxurious but basic. I wouldn't mind staying here if I'm a tourist, it has all the basic amenities, no swimming pool, no frills but comfortable enough for a night's rest before shopping and sight seeing beckons.

But as I was still recovering from my nasty infection that weekend, we did not stay overnight but gave the room to D & L who had a nice stay with their baby girl.

But I still kay poh kay poh came in the afternoon and stayed till evening before we hand the key over.

Bed is huge. Much bigger than other hotel bed I have slept in.

Left: Small and compact toilet
Right: Basic stuffs such as a safe, kettle, cups and that is the wardrobe. No doors.

Left: LCD TV on the wall, many channels including AXN and ESPN
Right: View from the room

Here I am posing for picture in the mirror while hubby is checking out the showering facilities. (^=^)

I think I will be better - Hopefully

I had a bit of a scare because of my fainting attack. I didn't get better and was very weak and giddy and we decided to go to A&E.
Overall to cut the long story short, I was diagnosed to have a one time attack and not on any medication for now. Apparently the Dr (a Prof some more) thinks it's very common to have such attack and I quote "even people dancing in pub can have one" (erm).

My CT scan was ok and am now waiting for my EEG report, out maybe next week.

So after spending a day admitted in the ward, I was very happy and excited to be discharged yesterday. I came home and showered and I slept from 4 to 7!

I truly feel blessed to be alive and hopefully well as long as I can be. I was quite a baby at the ward and to much embarrassment, the nurses and Drs were very kind to me. The night nurse found me crying and it's one of those times when you are so scared and worried that you just cannot stop. She comforted me, let me sit at the nurses' station and made me Milo. That night I had a fainting episode again, the ground was moving and my head was light headed and my hands and feet were numb. I was confined to bed and feeling more scared, cried some more. In the end, my hubby came and held my hand.

Dearie, I want to thank you for going through this with me, for staying and waiting while I was stuck in the A&E recovery room and you sitting alone in the visitor's waiting area for close to 4 hours. The recovery room was a chaotic mess, trolleys in and out (it's my first time there and hopefully the last). I'm sorry for waking you at 1 am and causing you not to sleep the entire night. But you comfort me and I feel safe with you.

The CT scan and EEG was an eye opener, the technician showed me the probes and my reading on the computer screen but the DR will have to analyse it and write the report. While capturing the awake mode, she flashes bright lights in my eyes (my eyes were closed) and made me breathe in and out very quickly for 3 mins  to collect some readings. These made my headache worse and my limbs numb and tingly. In the sleep mode, she played some music and I tried to relax and sleep. I think I did sleep for a short while and she was satisfied with the readings. The whole procedure took 30 min or longer.

so the good news is that I'm home and recovering. Though my right side is still slightly weaker, it seems this is the residual effect and will go away. My TCU is on 1 June and I will pray that the test report is ok.

To my dearest friends, I'm ok so don't worry ok? Thank you for your concern and love and well wishes across the ocean. Muaks.

Fainting

I'm trying to write this in a positive way but I'm feeling rather pessimistic now.
Anyway, I fainted this morning while getting ready for work at the kitchen sink. According to my hubby, I fainted 3 times in total from the kitchen to the room and I had no idea. I only remembered hearing my mum calling for my hubby frantically when I first fainted and finally after struggling to wake up, my mum was wiping my cold sweat.

I was scared.

Anyhow, I am referred to see a neurologist to exclude some stuffs. Earliest appointment is at the end of April. I'm afraid to faint again. It's not a pleasant experience and it's embarrassing.

I want to be happy, to live my life with my dearie and not worry about what I cannot control. The most important thing is to do the right thing so that I won't look back in regrets.

To be true to myself for only the one that truly cares will stay with me in times of health and sickness, to laugh with me and to dry up my tears. Flitting clouds are meaningless, paper airplanes will cease to fly.
