Our great holiday in Perth!

We had a great holiday! Really really great! I can't count the number of pleasures we had, the great company, the marvelous food, the chirping birds, the great coffee, yogurts and ice cream. Baskin Robbins Peanut butter chocolate (?)- good enuff for me! Marrons? Succulent & fresh! (though I couldn't eat more than one that day.. :( )

Many things made my day.. and  one which brought a constant smile to my face is remembering the 4 ducks that waddle pass us at Swan river.. pass the pesky raven and greedy seagulls that surrounds us hoping for a bite of Hungry Jacks. It's amazing how nature can make everything worth it. How God's creation is so wonderfully crafted, how amazing God made friends like you. :D

I miss you, miss the weather and the nature that surrounds. The time spent together is not enough and I wish there's more I can do for you and say to you.  I can only pray for you and look at the same stars we are seeing every night and wish that you will be ok, and that when you look at the fairy, you will know that I'm thinking and praying for you.

*Tight Hug!

looks cold, hope the outfit I'm bringing will be warm enough and I won't be doing  a "fashion show" for nothing and bring too many clothes that will end up redundant... ;P opss.

I spy a cat photo taking opportunity this morning on my way to work

on closer inspection, it looks a little sick and very sad. as I walked along the slope and looked back, I saw it turning its head and looking after me wistfully... :(

A slice of cake, a slice of happiness.

Sakura Mochi

It's sakura season in Japan. We bought this sakura mochi from Sun Moulin @ Isetan. Filled with red bean paste, it's both salty and sweet. But I can't really taste any sakura (how does sakura taste anyway?)

Our friend D & L went last month and caught the full bloom in Tokyo *envious*. Went to their place today and saw their photos, it's very nice! We never caught the full sakura bloom where pink fills the trees and everywhere looks like a dreamland.

The bloom we caught in 2008 Hokkaido was slightly different, the sakura was of a different variety, it was much bigger. And the trees we saw at a secluded park was shorter.
Here are some pictures to recapture our sakura moments.

Makan_10: Teochew Beef Kway Teow

yummy! I must eat it again soon!

Home cooked: Beef with asparagus

Continuing my cooking adventure with beef, I fried it with asparagus on a separate day. Found the meat not as tender as I would like. Not sure if it's the cooking time of the beef or the cut of the beef. Would have liked it if there were more gravy to eat with rice. Will try cooking it again too.

Shin Jaga with beef and carrot

I picked this recipe from Our Adventures in Japan.

Here's the recipe.

Love the sweet and salty taste of the gravy, but I added too much stock.

According to the recipe, I was suppose to cook till the liquid evaporate, but I chose to cover the lid and let the meat simmer. I will try it again another day.

Hubby loves it too! By the way, love the plate with the bunnies! :)

Here's the picture of the dashi (stock) packet that I used.
