A midday cuppa

Now that I've finally found the time to explore SIM and found the new Starbucks, I am a happy mooch :)
My caffeine tolerance has been rather low since I fell sick, I get jittery if I drink too much and I can't sleep at night. All messed up and never before unless I drank coffee after 7.30PM. Well, this experience taught me to listen to my body and treat it right, feeding it wholesome food and cutting down on cold drinks. Anyway, I compromised by allowing myself to drink Starbucks and cold coffee once in awhile. Otherwise it's always Kopi now, no more Kopi-peng much to the astonishment of my friends who gets me kopi.

It's Children Day and we get to leave 1 hour early. Yay! Long weekend this week and hoping to have some form of will power to do up my notes and study a bit.

Cute!

Suffocated by the haze and a brilliant pinkish beautiful sunset

The haze has hit a high record today at 12PM. For once I'm glad I'm at work, in this nice air conditioned environment. It is horrible, the smell, the nausea and the headache plus siap siap eyes.

I need a new place and I'm gonna install air conditioned in every room! Sleeping in a non air conditioned room with windows shut and only with the fan is not so ideal now. The smell is suffocating. Sigh. Wonder how long it would take to subside and the impact it will have on my health and work next week.

Anyhow, it is VERY important to hydrate! Made numerous trips to the toilet today. Drank loads of H20 to quench the thirst and to ease the throat.

Hydration is important. Drank more than 2 litres at work.

And I gave myself a treat! The drink is not too bad. Basically sugar. haha. Well, there's wheat grass, supposedly an anti oxidant.

Old fashioned coffee

Weird Looking plant. Not sure of the name but I have never seen it before .. It secretes and digests insects I suppose.

Beautiful Landscape

Visited Garden by the Bay on the 12th Oct (Friday) for Community work with the elders for Elder Day care. Beautiful day for a visit, the elderly lady whom I was with had a great time and lots of pictures were taken. Love to visit it again.

Makan_12: Brunetti Pastries and Drinks

These selection adds up to about SGD 35. Pretty expensive. The smaller pastries on the right is about SGD 2.75 each.

Peach and Pear Cheese Crumble. SGD 10 (EX!)

Love the tiles

Sugar and Tiles and all things nice :)

Had a day off yesterday and went out with hubby for medical appointment and errands. Popped by Tanglin Mall and decided to try this place.
Honestly, I wouldn't go back again for the pastries and drinks. I don't like how my Ice Cafe Latte was made and the cakes were just so so. Maybe it's just my cheese cake. But I would like to try their meals. It looks reasonable and it's a nice place to hang out to relax.

Makan_12: Chock Full of Beans and a smily Face!

Went to visit granny on Sat and decided to pop by this little cafe as it was featured in the papers. Love the vibe of the place, very nice place to hang out on a Saturday. Thankfully it wasn't crowded and the 3 of us mansged to get a nice seat.

We shared the Chicken salad, Strawberry Shortcake and I had a Ice Latte while mummy had the green ginger tea.

Wishing that it wasn't so far away.... not too sure when I will return.
