Mugging with an iPhone 5 in the other hand
My life: Mugging hard for QEM... thought I understood it but when I read a new question, my mind goes momentarily blank! Wish I'm a full time student so that I can focus better and not get distracted so easily. On a tech note, while the whole world queues up for iPhone 6, hubby and I got an iPhone 5. Price has dropped and there's voucher in our teleco plan. Why not? iPhone 6 feels too big and light... maybe next time.

The Simple Bare Necessities (PM#5)
newly purchased last sat : 16/4/11
It was one of the PM Disney's figurine that I fell in love with. heh. hubby took a look and found it hard to say no. reminds me of Lu on hubby's tummy.
YY helped me to source for it and I'm hoping she can get the Alice's in Wonderland figurine that I'm in love with... the bunny and the old stopwatch.

Celebrating mummy's Birthday
Today my mummy turns *ahem* in her fifties. We had an early birthday celebration for her at Wan Hao, Sg Marriot Hotel.
We had a feast eating dim sum and it's worth every penny!

Clockwise from left: Braised beef tendons with radish (so good and tender), 烧肉(BBQ pork), yam cake with 香肠(Chinese sausage) and 虾交 (prawn dumplings )

Chicken with frog leg and Chinese sausage

Salmon and Garoupa Siew Mai

Clockwise from left: Fish congee, deep fried enoki mushrooms (I can't remember what else is in there), coffee pork and prawn and beancurd in ma la sauce

Clockwise from left: Chinese bai cai, bass fish fillet with Nonya sauce, 上汤水交 ( dumplings in soup) and an assortment of custard bun, gyoza, chicken Siew Mai, pork bun.
There's also a yam pastry with minced meat and shrimp paste and char Siew pastry (not pictured)
We walked around Orchard and bought a bag for mummy. I was disappointed to find the Japanese shop selling delicate pastries and Mochi no longer at Takashimaya B2, near Cold Storage. They had such pretty stuffs!
We moved on to GWC and shared a spicy tuna pasta and ceaser salad amongst us at Coffee Bean.
Today we bought a strawberry shortcake and sang "Happy Birthday!"
Wishing mummy good health and happiness always!

My favourite things this week

daily walks to the MRT station with hubby. Love the morning light.

wearing my favourite (yes, another) flat pair of shoes from URS. need to get a back up pair soon, this is going to wear off soon (yes, again)

from left:
1. a blue scrunchie that I bought because it looks cute and young :)
2. my secret garden necklace from electric love letter
3. old old wore-it-to-death pair of sleeping shorts I had to throw away, because it's too fray to mend.
the story: battery had to be replaced. sent it to the city chain shop at GWC. guy apparently scratch the surface of the base while removing the lid off to change the batt. I ended up with mysterious scratches from a couple of days and finally took a closer look at my watch on Thursday and found the root cause. so angry with the shop. there's no point going back to ask them to do anything, I will simply not change my batt or buy anything from them ever. Thing is, I didn't like this CC shop for awhile bcos they weren't polite or friendly when I browse around a coupke of time. They gave the "you are probably too poor to buy anything" look. but I was desperate last weekend. sigh. love my 25 hour watch and yes. it's almost 10 years old, kinda rusty at the base but I love it to bits. just because. =D

it's an antique!
