My pretty tree protecting us from the haze and a home for many sightings of birds

The leaves of my tree has turned yellow.. is this from the haze?

Amazed how a shift of wind direction changes the course of the haze pathway in just a matter of a few hours

Truly thankful for the rain that falls heavily as I type. The cheers heard from the students and the rustling of leaves and branches as the wind howls. It's a good respite and who can predict what tomorrow weather and wind will bring?

So it's true then to this report ....Only rain can help S'pore now

A quick destressing post amidst my preparation for next semester handouts. Had a lovely though sickly trip to Melbourne last week Great weather at the Great Ocean Road even though I was down with sniffles and fever.

Happy that we managed to see the Twelve Apostles (there's only 9 in actual fact) and that's one item off my bucket list.

Very touched that we fulfilled mummy's wish to visit Australia and this is also to celebrate her 60th Birthday!

Beautiful Landscape

Visited Garden by the Bay on the 12th Oct (Friday) for Community work with the elders for Elder Day care. Beautiful day for a visit, the elderly lady whom I was with had a great time and lots of pictures were taken. Love to visit it again.

Almost Cherry Blossoms

Saturday started early today. Hubby and I went to Botanic Gardens for a morning walk and to feed the swans and fishes and tortoises. We were greeted to this awesome, beautiful sight of flower petals gently falling from tree. It was surreal and like a fairy tale.. Pink flowers floated down on us. WOW! For a moment, I imagined I was in Japan enjoying the Cherry Blossoms with the cool crisp air of the morning dew. Amazing.

We had a super moon yesterday

The moon was huge! Hubby pointed it out to me and remarked that it looks bigger than usual. I thought that it was because the skies were clearer after the heavy rain in the afternoon.





We took this at the bus stop. I wanted to take the moon with the MRT train but couldn't. Our bus came and we left.

Read about the super moon phenomenum. The moon is 50,000 km(?) closer to the earth last night. It's a rare occurance and I won't be surprised if werewolves and dogs starts to howl.

Hmm.. Maybe this would explain the peculiar behaviours of the 2 resident cats of this block. They have been meowing, growling and "quarreling" quite a bit in the last few days.

Earthquake in Japan

Some say it's a prelude to 2012.. To me, it's one disaster too many.

Japan was hit by an earthquake of 8.9 magnitude yesterday. My heart hurts thinking of the many lives lost and my favourite country being tormented.
I pray that our cousin and niece and their family are safe. So far Yokohama is not affected but we just want confirmation.

Interesting snail. Initially I thought it was a fossil, but on closer look, realised that it was alive!

Ephesus- one of the largest archeological sites in existence. Amazing 1.5hr walk!
