Hello LG!

So a new appliance has joined the Mooch family today! Let's welcome the LG TurboDrum washing machine! *claps*

Sadly the old washing machine bought after the flat was upgraded and grandma mooch had a back op finally lost it's energy to spin and we had to let it retire after 8 years. *sob*

~~ I'm going bonkers talking to inanimate objects. Haha ~~

Dead Lizard

Ewww!!! Spotted a lizard on the floor next to the sink as I was brushing my teeth. I shouted and jumped. Calming down I went neared and peered at the lizard. Unmoving, I presumed it dead. Its feet was not "suctioned" into the ground and it looked like a toy.

Nevertheless, I refused to pick up its body and my heroic hubby disposed the corpse. My hero... :)

there goes my fan too..

wah lau!

fan blade broke into pieces when my mum cleaned it. they say things come in 3 (or is it good things only?)... I hope not. Can't bear for anything else to spoil. sigh, have to buy a new fan.. and we were at Best at Vivo yesterday, there was a OCBC member sale with additional rebate.

arrgh!

Into the chute

As I'm typing this, a man is in our kitchen hammering away on our wall where the dustbin chute used to be. As hubby's luck should have it, the door of the dustbin kena stuck when he threw the milk carton away this morning, then he tried to scrap away chucks of the cement and some stuffs, hammer and pry and finally the door closes, but not fully.

For fear of cockroaches creeping in later.. we decided to part with our money again and called the no. in the classified.

$280 is very ex leh. There's one for $120, but it's the very old fashioned kind that juts out. There's another $180 type but no stock... so we have made our choice.

In a way, it's better to live in the newer HDB flats because the dustbin chutes are in the common corridor and the Town Council will attend to the maintenance. ( I called TC for help and ask for any licensed contractors to recommend) but having a chute in the house also makes it convenient. Oh well, just be contented and make do with what we have now. Same goes for the joy of hanging clothes out into the sun in old flats versus new flats, where drying clothes does not equals to fabrics flapping in the wind and tanning in the sun.

My New Garden

Last Dec, I wrote a post about the digging and drilling around my estate. Tada! Look at the new pathway at the 1st picture. The grass was abit dry as I took it on 1st Feb when the weather was dry and hot. It's now better and they actually added another palm plant and a mini tree (I just looked down earlier).

Greener grass and a new tree!

I love my place, it is so green and I can hear the birds chip and the crickets calls loudly and mate. And I get weird insects flying in and I don't mind them as long as they don't land on me!

And the 2nd picture shows what I see when I look out from my small room everyday, either eating my breakfast or reading or just daydreaming.

Happy 牛 Year!

Our little decor  on the front door

so CNY is here is another 2 days. Cleaning has been done and a lot of goodies has been bought and finishing!! Will be having reunion dinner with in-laws tomorrow and will start the Pai Nian tradition of visiting relatives.

Also, will be celebrating ah ma's birthday on and I have ordered a durian cake from Emicake.

Lastly, thinking of going to Sentosa for their annual flower festival. Definitely a crowded affair. The weather has been rather hot these couple of days, I hope the flowers would not wither so soon.

Deja Vu and more

saturday was spent lazing at home. rain in the morning and nice breeze for the rest of the day.
we had an early dinner, watched some TV on 54 and decided to watch our long over due DVD that we had since 1st June!
not too bad, some part a liitle far fetched, rest as with all thrillers, exciting and I don't mind anything from the producer of CSI and TAR!

Earlier in the day, the hubby watched "Letters from Iwo Jiwa" while I snoozed away. Not because of the show. Just wanted to sleep.

Most of you know that we are a DVD couples. venturing to cinemas only when we have a free tix, great shows that we are dying to catch and of course the movie HAS to be watched on a wide screen with surround sound etc.
Like next week Harry Potter? I'm a die hard fan. Watched every single movie in the cinema. Since 2001. That's how long we have been together *smiles*
We grew up with Harry! Daniel and the rest of the gang!

our quiet getaway

Just 3 days into our domesticated life, we headed off into a quiet suite of lush vegetation, charming english scones, antique beds and nice tubs for a well deserved soak right in the heart of Singapore.
A complimentary room stay from our wedding. the luxury of checking in at 530pm till 24 hrs later.

walking into the room and we were greeted with a basketful full of fruits. Dragon fruit, grapes, oranges, granny smith, grapefruit and a box of chocolates.
here's looking out of the antique window from the dining room into the bedroom..

The huge comfy bed!

Another antique! Cupboard that houses a TV (small, not very good.. around 21 inch) ands a Bose CD/ radio player (reception not very clear, and pity we didn't bring our CDs)

Always love a relaxing soak...

guess what does this contains? i thought it was jus for deco.. only till later did i rrealise that it was full of bath salts!

Complimentary chocolates.

we had a good rest.
everything is so seculded..

Wardrobe

Fixing up the extension of our wardrobe.

We finally have a mirror in our room. Full length. Next to the wardrobe.

Newly fixed blinds. I know it's been tough on you, It's an uncomfortable angle to drill.
