A midday cuppa

Now that I've finally found the time to explore SIM and found the new Starbucks, I am a happy mooch :)

My caffeine tolerance has been rather low since I fell sick, I get jittery if I drink too much and I can't sleep at night. All messed up and never before unless I drank coffee after 7.30PM. Well, this experience taught me to listen to my body and treat it right, feeding it wholesome food and cutting down on cold drinks. Anyway, I compromised by allowing myself to drink Starbucks and cold coffee once in awhile. Otherwise it's always Kopi now, no more Kopi-peng much to the astonishment of my friends who gets me kopi.

It's Children Day and we get to leave 1 hour early. Yay! Long weekend this week and hoping to have some form of will power to do up my notes and study a bit.

Innocence

This is the first time in a  year that I can actually blog from my desk at work... Wow weet!
hahha.... it's the exams now and I'm pretty blessed that I'm teaching mainly course work this sem... so while the rest are busy rushing to mark the exams scripts, I have entered the marks into the system with my Module Leader and it has been vetted and approved by the Director. *yay! Heh... and to think that I was so stressed and grumbling because I have to mark 180 journals (three times this sem) for Communications module, 25 Literature review, 32 Research Critique and 6 posters. Yes... that's alot of things to read.

I have things that has to be completed eventually ... but I'm appreciating the break and surfing the net. It can get boring after a day.... and I'm sleepy. Yawn.

I have a sudden love for cars

I have 2 cars (of different types) on my desk. I like cars and I like it when I can make it from Lego. hahahah. Think my closet boy is surfacing. Now I have a sudden urge to make the rest of the cars characters from Lego and start my collection. Cool huh??

It has been awhile ...

Blogging from my new MacBook Pro! Yippee!

It has been too long without a working personal lappy. Everything was not really working on my old laptop and I haven't been able to sync and back up my phone for close to half a year.

Anyhow, I'm ok... lots of ups and downs and endless stress and changes. Hanging in there!

I'm still here!

Wow! It has been 2 months since I last blogged. I've been busy with work and lost my mojo to blog.. My reading has also been slow. Seriously the last thing i want to do is to read after work. There are so many work related stuffs to read and I'm just so tired after a day's work.

Still... I'm waiting to get a kick start to reading my thrillers.

A quick summary.. Work have been great. Tired but totally fulfilling. I have marked approximately 250+ qns (1 qns and 4 parts) papers, went on 5 weeks of CA, attended a PDE training course for 5 days and getting to know many people and International Fellows and this week is the quiet training week to get myself familiar with all things at school before term starts next week. ** BIG NERVOUS JITTERS!!!

And I have to be sick this week! Fever and bad bad flu. Boo! Everyone in school is falling sick and we are all trying to recover quickly before Monday comes. Monday is the most intensive day. 6 hours of classes! Starts at 8am.

I had to give up on a staff retreat trip to Desaru tomorrow... I'm not feeling too good and it doesn't make sense to go and "play" and end up getting sicker. It's a long day from 730 to 11pm!

Something old @ Tiong Bahru

I was out with mummy the other day for a yummy lunch at the market. We had Lor Mee and I had cravings for Mee Chiam Kueh (peanuts snacks). I let mummy reminisced about living in Blk 81. She showed me her old flat and was telling  me stories about her childhood. Later, I brought her to 40 hands and we sat under the fan whilst enjoying our flat white.

Fitting for the name of Puss

cos she's always snoozing between shoes and slippers (2 different racks. I think she would sleep outside my flat if I have a shoe rack there). you can also find her splayed out in the middle of  a flight of stairs relaxing. 

I used to dislike her but now I have a soft spot for her. funny how someone's perspectives changes over time. oh ya, she's warming up to me too I supposed.

I had my haircut today. Its now short and chic and so much tidier. I like!

It's TOO HOT!!! and I wish I'm a mermaid. :)

Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tide Gala Premiere

I was so excited that the tickets hubby won was for a premiere gala and the grand opening ceremony for Lido! Since he couldn't make it, I went with SY on Monday (16/5) and it was GREAT!!!

We enjoyed the show ( and were feeling very smug that we got to watch it before US and Sg premiere 20/5 and 19/5 respectively) and saw a few celebrities, mainly Thomas Ong who was my childhood/ adolescent idol. *swoon :)

Great experience!

Rudolph came early

I have a huge and painful pimple (acne) on my nose! It hurts so much and it's so ugly :(

Hope it will recover soon. I have no idea what to do with it except keep it clean and apply pimple cream.

Makan_11: Galilee's Fish and chips

It rained heavily last Sat. We took a trip to Queenstown NLB to reloot my books. I was so excited to spot 2 hardcover books that were newly released, that I had to borrow it. I personally prefer paperback because it is lighter but hardcover books looks so serious and the paper they used are of much better quality.

Hubby bought a cookies and cream coffee ice blended and was impressed by it. We decided to have our dinner at Cafe Galilee at the library.



I had the fish and chips. Huge portion, great deal for $7.50.



Hubby had the Roastery Chicken Leg. It was a little tough, he thinks it could be an overnight portion. I suspected over cooking, causing the loss of tenderness. $7.90.

Hello LG!

So a new appliance has joined the Mooch family today! Let's welcome the LG TurboDrum washing machine! *claps*



Sadly the old washing machine bought after the flat was upgraded and grandma mooch had a back op finally lost it's energy to spin and we had to let it retire after 8 years. *sob*

~~ I'm going bonkers talking to inanimate objects. Haha ~~

Jug as cup

Had dinner with hubby last night at Pines Cafe @ Ngee Ann alumni. Food was ok. We had mee goreng (hub) & cripsy hong kong noodle (me). We were amused by the jug that contained our ice lemon tea & barley drink. It's huge!

We also shared an avacodo ice cream from daily scoop @ sunset way. Nice!
